The Importance of Subject Ranking
When looking at the university ranking table, students should be aware that it is based on overall performance of the universities, and therefore may not necessarily reflect a university’s strength in a specific subject area. Industry-leading expertise doesn’t always translate to a high ranking in the overall ranking table.
This phenomenon is particularly pronounced in applied subjects such as Physiotherapy, Radiography, Pharmacy, Food Science, Surveying & Construction Management, Land & Property Management, Town Planning, Social Work, Hospitality & Tourism, etc. It’s important that students take reference from the subject rankings, to make an informed and balanced choice.
