Important Notes
- When can you start applying for your student visa? We recommend applying your student visa as early as it is allowed by the regulations, which is six months before your departure!
- How long does the visa decision normally take? Visa decision will normally be released in 15 to 90 days after submission. Due to the large amount of applications during summer, application might take longer then.
- Collecting your Passport: Student’s passport will be kept at the visa application centre for initial processing, and will be available for collection on the same day. Student can wait at the visa application centre (normally for 2-3 hours), or pay a charge of courier return service to have it delivered to the home address.
- Arrival Date: You can enter the UK as a student one month before the start of your course, and are required to submit your intended arrival date as part of the online application. Please be reminded that if student entered the UK as a tourist, you would be required to re-enter the UK to activate your student visa!
- Visa Decision: When a decision is made on your student visa, student will be notified by email from UKVI.
- eVisa: Starting from 2025, after the student visa is approved, you are required to obtain an eVisa to show your visa status at the border and during the time in the UK. You will need to create an account on www.gov.uk/eVisa to obtain the eVisa.
