Entry Requirement of Top 30 Universities
Students who fulfilled the requirement can directly progress to year 1 at degree level, while those who fall short can take pathway courses such as International Diplomas and University Foundation Courses.

University of London International Foundation Programme (with academic direction from LSE)
Ranked the 32nd globally and the 3rd in the UK, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)will introduce their first ever international foundation programme in the academic year of 2013/14. The programme will enable high-achieving students a chance to progress onto any degree in the University after a year. With the academic direction from LSE, the programme will be delivered by London FoundatiOnCampus – a long time partner of University of London – and will be based in a designated study centre in Birkbeck, University of London. The programme now accepts applications from HKDSE students.

JUPAS: 1700 Fewer Places for JUPAS in 2013/14
According to the documents submitted to LegCo by the Education Bureau and UGC, the 8 universities in Hong Kong normally admit about 2500 to 2700 students through Non-JUPAS, accounting for about 18% to 19% of total university places available.

Air New Zealand withdraws HK & London service
Air New Zealand will withdraw services between Hong Kong and London from 4 March 2013. According to information provided by Air New Zealand, affected customers will be re-booked, in most cases onto Cathay Pacific’s services. Students should contact their agent or Air New Zealand to confirm their re-booking as soon as possible, if they are holding tickets to commence travel with Air New Zealand between Hong Kong and London from March 4 2013.

1-Year A-levels at State Colleges
Many UK universities have released the entry requirements for HKDSE. Students who reached these requirements are eligible to progress to year one of an undergraduate degree programme while students who fall short will have to study one-year pathway programmes such as 1-Year A-levels and foundation courses to progress to universities. These options are also popular among students aiming at top universities as entry requirements are mostly stringent.

GCE A-Levels Scholarship for Medicine and Law
Girls boarding school Princess Helena College has set up a scholarship for students planning to study medicine or law in universities.
