Wychwood School is a small girls’ boarding school in the city of Oxford, with around 120 day and boarding students studying Year 7 to Year 13. The school will become co-educational from 2023/24, but its commitment to an individual approach and small class teaching will continue! In Wychwood School, year 7 to 9 students typically work in groups of 10 to 25. At GCSE, group sizes range from about 5 to 20 and at A level the maximum size for a teaching group will be capped at 10.
In the six years before the pandemic (2014-2019), A*-B rates in A-levels ranged from 48% to 82%, while A*-B rate is at 68% in 2022. There are usually around 10 graduates every year. Based on destination statistics from 2015 to 2021, University of Warwick and University of the West of England are two of the most popular destinations. Other more popular choices include Bristol, Leeds, Oxford Brookes and Royal Holloway, in addition to three students who progressed to Univeristy of Hong Kong, studying Food & Nutrition, Nursing and Translation & Interpretation. Notable alumni inlcude British zoologist Honor Fell, as well as British actress Florence Pugh!
