Uppingham School is top boarding school in the midland county of Rutland, just about 30 minutes away from Leicester. With close to 450 years of history, boarding culture is big in Uppingham School, where 95% of students are full boarders, and only in recent years that it has become more open to day students. Academic results are consistently outstanding – in the latest two cohorts (2025-2026) the overall A*-B rates in A-levels were between 83% to 84%; among the classes 2023 to 2025, about 7-8% of graduates were able to progress to G5 universities in the UK. The majority of graduates would continue their education in top Russell Group universities, including Durham University, University of Exeter, Newcastle University, University of Edinburgh and many more. Notable Hong Kong alumni include the founder of Bank of East Asia David Li Kwok Po, after whom Uppingham’s new day house Li Kwok Po House was named!

Application & Exam Arrangement

Students who are interested in enrolling in the September 2027 intake must submit their registrations before the closing dates in accordance to their year groups. Eligible applicants will be invited to an admission interview after passing the entrance exams.
