Located in the mid-land of England, the University of Gloucestershire is an university that focuses on business, art & design, computer sciences and other subjects in the humanities. Landscape Architecture is one of its strongest areas and is ranked the 2nd in the UK. The University was granted full university status in 2001 and is now ranked the 91st in the UK. Like many other new universities, University of Gloucestershire is still catching up with the university ranking, as a result of its lower entry requirement and less focus of academic researches. University foundation, international diploma and 2-3 year undergraduate degrees are available, providing flexibility for students of different abilities and targets. Hong Kong’s sub-degree graduates will be considered 2nd and final year entry of a degree course.
Hospitality & Tourism Management
Hospitality & Tourism Management is a relatively new subject, but University of Gloucestershire has over 20 years of experience teaching it and is ranked the 32nd in the subject. Set within a region that attracts over six million tourists every year, with several major international festivals, students will have plenty of opportunity to gain valuable experience within the industry. Courses are highly practical and hands-on experience forms a major part of learning. Many undergraduate programmes include a paid placement in the industry, in which theory can be into practice and some might even lead to employment after graduation.
