Ulster University is a Northern Irish university with campuses in the capital city of Belfast, as well as Coleraine and Derry/Londonderry – the other two main cities in Northern Ireland. It’s the largest university in Northern Ireland by student population, with a long history that can be traced back to 1865. Ulster University is currently ranked the 40th in the UK, and within top 10 for Radiography, Building & Surveying, Land & Property Management, Architecture, Pharmacy and a few other subjects.

Its Nursing programmes are particularly notable in that it’s ranked the 41st globally (QS 2021). In addition to BSc (Hons) Nursing, Ulster University also offers MSc Nursing programmes which come with elective modules that prepare students for the OSCE Test of Competence of Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) – a worthwhile option for registered nurses in Hong Kong, who wishes to practise in the United Kingdom and to obtain advanced nursing knowledge. Established in the 2021/22 academic year, the School of Medicine offers a four-year Graduate-Entry Medicine programme that has remained open to applicants without a formal science background – in the first two cohorts, there were 10-20 successful applicants of non-science background!
