Truro School is a large-scale boarding school in Cornwall with good academic results, a well-equipped campus in a picturesque location and a wide range of extracurricular activities. Popular among local families, there are currently about 850 students in the senior school. When the prep school is included, Truro School is a large school with over 1000 students. The overall A*-B rate in GCE A-levels was at 73% in 2024. Outside the classroom, students in Truro School have the option of over 70 extracurricular activities. The School is also named one of the top 100 independent sports school by School Sport magazine, where it came as the 6th best in 2016!
Truro School is champion of fencing among independent schools. In the 2016/17 academic year, twelve fencers from Truro School have participated in international competitions. For wind surfing, Finn Hawkins won 1st place in RYA National Championship U15 category and went on to compete in the World Youth Championships with a few of his schoolmates. In 2018/19, Truro School also introduced a certificate course of Leiths Cookery School – a good option for students who aspire to become a chef or a nutritionist, or who are simply curious about the basics of cookery!
