Located in the city of Milton Keynes and about one-hour drive away from London Heathrow Airport, Thornton College is a Catholic girls’ boarding school with almost 100 years of history, where the sisters are still actively involved in the teaching and management of the school. Currently there are about 400 students in the school. Many of them come from local British families, providing a balanced mix of nationalities, including Spanish, Mexican, Hongkongese and Mainland Chinese boarders.

Thornton College used to offer education up to GCSE only, but in 2016/17 GCE A-levels was officially introduced, with the first cohort of graduates taking their exams in 2018. In the past, a Sixth Form Exhibition is held every year to help students and parents find the right option. Students have progressed to top boarding schools such as Ampleforth College, D’Overbroecks College, Headington School and Rugby School, while some looked for options in state and independent sixth form colleges.
