Stamford School is an all-through boarding school in the historical town of Stamford with over 1700 students – one of the very few boarding schools of such scale! The School was originally formed by three boarding schools – Stamford Junior School, Stamford School (the boys’ division) and Stamford High School (the girls’ division) – but these are now fully integrated to become a co-educational school starting from the 2023/24 academic year. In terms of public exam performance, A*-B rates in GCE A-levels were between 65% to 73% in the past two years (2025-2026). Popular university destinations include University of Bristol, Newcastle University, Northumbria University, University of Nottingham, University of York and University of Leeds in the years between 2020-2024. With close to 500 years of history, Stamford School has educated a good number of notable alumni. They include M. Stanley Whittingham (Nobel Laureate In Chemistry in 2019), Alfred Harmsworth (founder of the Daily Mail), Sarah Outen (the first woman to row solo across the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean) and many more!
