St Swithun’s School is a top girls’ boarding school in Winchester. Its 45-acre campus is situated close to the city centre and just 50 minutes away from London on a train. St Swithun’s School is an “all-through” school, with boarding available from Year 7. Currently there are about 500 students in the senior school and about 40% of them are boarders. Performance in public exams is top-notch. The class of 2026 achieved an impressive A*-B rate of 94%, with close to 2/3 of them getting AAA or better results. Top universities like University College London (UCL), King’s College London, Edinburgh and Durham are popular destinations, with about 10% of every cohort making it to Oxbridge! Entry is extremely competitive and there is a strong focus on language ability. Prospective students should apply 1-2 years in advance to avoid disappointment.

Application & Exam Arrangement

At secondary education stage, St Swithun’s School mainly accepts boarding students into the year groups listed below. Applicants are required to complete their registrations and submit their UKiSet results before the deadline. Eligible applicants will be invited to sit an entrance exam and an admission interview.
