Located in the North Wales, St David’s College is a small school that specialises in providing for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). As a member school of National Association for Able Children in Education (NACE), 55% of its students have SEN and 20% are More Able and Talented (MAT). In order to deliver interactive and appropriate lessons to pupils over a broad ability range, all teachers have to complete a comprehensive course in conjunction with Bangor University. In the 2012 Estyn Inspection Report, it was mentioned there is a strong sense of enjoyment in learning at St David’s College, that is unusual in pupils struggling with learning difficulties. The teaching efforts on SEN students were highly lauded by the inspectors!
