Southampton Solent University

Southampton Solent University is a new university established in 2005. It has since developed rapidly and is now the largest among other new universities. There is a strong focus on employability and students have a wide range of non-traditional subjects to choose from, including yacht and powercraft design, computer and video games, as well as performing arts – well reflecting its century-old history as an art school. Marine-based programme is another strong area benefiting from its geographic advantages where internationally renowned training and research facility are provided for the shipping and offshore oil industries.
