Shrewsbury School is a boarding school with over 470 years of history, situated in the West of England. It’s one of the first nine public schools in the UK and was originally a boys’ school, which first admitted girls in 2008 and has now become fully co-educational. It currently educates about 830 students, of which about 400 are sixth-formers (Year 12-13). Performance in public exams has been outstanding. In 2025, the overall A*-B rate of GCE A-levels was at 77%. In a special report by The Spectator, Shrewsbury School is named one of the top 80 schools in the UK for student progression to Oxford and Cambridge universities in the 2022/23 academic year.
