Shrewsbury School is a boarding school with over 470 years of history, situated in the West of England. It’s one of the first nine public schools in the UK and was originally a boys’ school, which first admitted girls in 2008 and has now become fully co-educational. It currently educates about 830 students, of which about 400 are sixth-formers (Year 12-13). Performance in public exams has been outstanding. In 2026, the overall A*-A rate of GCE A-levels was at 44%. In a special report by The Spectator, Shrewsbury School is named one of the top 80 schools in the UK for student progression to Oxford and Cambridge universities in the 2022/23 academic year.

Application & Exam Arrangement
Shrewsbury School mainly accepts boarding students into the year groups listed below. Applicants are required to complete their registrations before the deadline. Eligible applicants will be invited to sit an entrance exam and an admission interview.
