S. Anselm’s School

S. Anselm’s School is a small-scale preparatory boarding school with over 130 years of history, where students can be accepted into boarding from seven years old. Its campus is situated within the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire, in the market town of Bakewell. As at the 2024/25 academic year, there are about 150 students in the School – only one of the 41 boarders is an international student, who came from Hong Kong! The majority of students would continue their education in boarding schools, after finishing Year 8 in S. Anselm’s School. In the past eight years, as many as 37 graduates progressed to one of the original seven boarding public schools, including Shrewsbury School, Eton College, Harrow School, Winchester School and Rugby School. In the past two years (2022-2023), the most popular destinations included Denstone College, Shrewsbury School and Uppingham School.
