Royal School Haslemere

Founded with a donation from the Royal Family, Royal School Haslemere is now the oldest girls boarding school in the UK. According to the research done by University of Durham, Royal School Haslemere is doing an excellent job in improving student’s academic standard. Its value-addedness is among the top 2% in the UK. Students improve a grade or more in public exams. In 2012, over 50% of students achieved A*/A in GCSE and over 70% achieved A*-B in GCE A-levels.

The international study centre (ISC) of Royal School Haslemere provides education from Year 7 to Year 13 and is also one of the very few girls schools that provide 1-Year GCSE programme. After the 1-Year GCSE programme, students will have the option to progress onto the main school of Royal School Haslemere, or apply to other boarding schools in the UK. The programme can be a very good springboard for F.4 girls who aim to study at top girls schools in the UK where competition for places is usually fierce.

Remarks: Royal School Haslemere will gradually transit to co-educational. Boys and girls will be taught separately in Y4 to Y11, but together in sixth form. From 2014/15 on, the School will accept boys to its junior school and Y7 to Y9.
