Ranked the 120th in the world (QS 2025) and the 46th in the UK, Queen Mary, University of London is a constituent college of University of London and member of the prestigious Russell Group. Enjoying a worldwide reputation for research qualities, Queen Mary is ranked the 16th and 57th in the world for Dentistry and Medicine respectively, and within top 40 in the world for Law and English Literature (QS 2024). There are a total of nine Nobel Laureates among former Queen Mary staff and alumni – these include Sir Charles Kuen Kao, laureate of the Nobel Prize in Physics and former Vice-Chancellor of Chinese University of Hong Kong, who has worked at Queen Mary as Visiting Research Associate, in what is now the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science.
At undergraduate level, the School of Law offers a 3-year standard law degree, as well as the 4-year LLB (Hons) Law in Practice, in which students will spend their third year in paid work placements at Reed Smith LLP, Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP, or Simmons & Simmons LLP. In the area of Medicine and Dentistry, the Barts & The London School of Medicine & Dentistry is one of the oldest medical schools in England, with a history that can be traced back to 1785. The School currently offers its medicine degrees (MBBS) in both its London campus and Malta campus and accepts applications from international students.
