Pocklington School is a historical all-through boarding school in Yorkshire, which celebrated its 500th anniversary in 2014. Over its history that spans centuries, Pocklington School has educated numerous notable alumni, which also include Mark Fisher who designed the spectacular opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Olympics games in Beijing. Boarding fees are comparatively economical at today’s standard. The majority of students came from local families of mostly white ethnicity, and are often praised for their discipline and academic achievements! A*-B rates in GCE A-levels ranged from 56% to 71% in the five years before the pandemic (2015-2019), which usually put the School within the top 200-250 among independent boarding schools. In 2023, the overall A*-B rate in GCE A-levels was at 65%, largely in line with pre-pandemic level.
