Oundle School: Registration Deadline for Year 7

With a history spanning over 470 years, Oundle School is a prestigious independent school favoured by prominent families in the UK, including the descendants of economist John Maynard Keynes and biologist Charles Darwin. More recently, it has attracted even wider attention as a potential school choice for Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Notable alumni include Lord Kitchin (Justice of the Supreme Court of the UK), Sir Peter Scott (the late co-founder of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)), Cecil Lewis (co-founder of the BBC), Sir Howard Stringer (former Chief Executive Officer of Sony Corporation) and many more.

Situated in a market town in Cambridgeshire, Oundle School has a very strong boarding tradition, and is one of the few large-scale boarding schools with over 1,000 students. It excels across academics, extracurricular activities, and sports. The overall A*-B rate in A-levels was at an impressive 86%. The class of 2025 saw six students getting into Oxbridge; other top options included Durham University, University of Exeter, University of Edinburgh, University of Bristol and University of Manchester, with two returning to Hong Kong universities.

Admissions are highly competitive and prospective families are usually expected to visit the campus before they apply. Registration is advised 1 to 3 years in advance. International applicants are also required to submit UKiSet results for preliminary assessment.

Application & Exam Arrangement

Oundle School mainly accepts boarding students into the year groups listed below. Applicants are required to complete their registrations and submit their UKiSet results before the deadline. Eligible applicants will be invited to sit an entrance exam and an admission interview.

• Year 7: 2/11 (Monday)
• Year 9: Registration is recommended during Year 5-6. Applications might be considered depending on circumstances.
• Year 12: 30/9 (Wednesday)
