Middlesex University is strong in creative disciplines such as Media, Fashion and Performing Arts. Fashion is a particularly strong area of the University, where graduates can go as far as winning major awards in London Fashion Week, reflecting the successful training that matches the requirement of the industry. Notable alumni include world-renowned fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, actress Helen Mirren and musician Goldfrapp and Roger Glover, as well as Hong Kong artist b.wing!
In addition to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, Middlesex University also provides foundation programmes in the form of a Foundation Year. Designed for students whose grades fall slightly short of the requirements of undergraduate year one, a Foundation Year is an additional year attached to a standard 3-year undergraduate degree (students will be issued a visa that covers the whole 4-year period). Compared with a broad-learning University Foundation Course, in the Foundation Year students will focus on modules directly relevant to their disciplines and enjoy higher certainty in progression.
Middlesex University currently offers the Foundation Year in areas such as Art & Design (including Fashion Design, Media, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, etc), Communication & Media, Business, Biological Sciences, Computer Sciences, Law, Sport Sciences and more!
