Liverpool John Moores University

Ranked the 74^th in the UK, Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is one of the further education colleges granted full university status in 1992. It’s also the first to provide sports science degrees. The University is aiming to break into the top 60 in 3 years’ time. Improvement in ranking was shown in the past few years, benefiting from the rise in students satisfaction and degree classification. Like other post-1992 universities, education is more career-oriented. In addition to placement opportunities, the University also provides a “World of Work” programme that trains eight transferable skills (such as analysis & problem solving, numerical reasoning, written and verbal communication). The “World of Work” programme is backed by well established companies such as Siemens, Sony, Oracle, M&S and Airbus, which is believed to enhance student’s employability.
