Leeds Beckett University is one of the polytechnics that were granted university status because of the 1992 Education Act. It’s strong for Physiotherapy, and is one of the few universities that offer programmes in Landscape Architecture. Employability is a focus in a Leeds Beckett’s education, where work placement opportunities and work-related learning are gradually introduced into its undergraduate curriculum. In many faculties students will also have the option to take a 4-year degree which include a sandwich year of placement. Leeds Beckett University is home to as many as 80 sports teams. The University offers a range of sports scholarships to UK students, and encourages all students to lead an active lifestyle!
