Kensington Park School / Chelsea Independent College

In the 2017/18 academic year, three London sixth from colleges under the administration of Astrum Education will transform into two sister colleges to further enhance learning experience they deliver. Extending the commitment to provide a British education, Kensington Park School (formed after the merger of Duff Miller College and Lansdowne College) will maintain the cap of international students to 20% to 30%, to make sure that the British way of teaching and learning prevails. Chelsea Independent College, on the other hand, will become more international, so that teaching can be tailored to the needs of international students, who are coping with changes in language and approach of teaching.

Kensington Park School

Located in South Kensington (adjacent to Natural History Museum), Kensington Park School teaches Year 7 to Year 13 to prepare students for GCSE and GCE A-levels, suitable for students with outstanding academic result and fluent English. Admission policies of Kensington Park School will maintain the cap of international students at 20% to 30%, to make sure that the British way of teaching and learning prevails. As co-circular activities being introduced into student’s timetable, students in Kensington Park School will enjoy more diverse learning experience inside and outside the classroom much like those in traditional boarding school, enhancing their chance in getting into the finest universities in the UK.

Chelsea Independent College

Chelsea Independent College will further enhance its international mix, in order to provide the extra support for international students who are coping with changes in medium of instruction and teaching approach. The College teaches Year 10 to Year 13. In sixth form, students will have the option between taking GCE A-levels, or the one-year NCUK University Foundation – which allows students to progress onto year one in a university within NCUK’s network of 16 universities, including top universities such as Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield.

Exam Results & Destinations

The three colleges have consistently achieved very good public exam results and 2014/15 was no exception. London continues to be a popular destination for the 2015 class, with many continuing their education in prestigious London colleges such as King’s College, Imperial College, UCL and LSE. Across the colleges, 70% of students were able to progress to a leading university^#, with 30% of them gaining entry into Britain’s Top 10 universities.

Medical Programme

The Programme is tailored for students aiming at med schools and other competitive degrees such as dentistry, pharmacy and vet medicine. It provides extra interview preparation, assistance in the preparation for UKCAT and BMAT, as well as an annual conference on medicine programmes attended by students and speakers from UK med schools. In 2014/15, a total of 33 students successfully gained entry into medicine and other medical-related programmes.
