With more than 600 years of history, Ipswich School is a large scale boarding school with a total of more than 1000 students in its preparatory and senior school. Yet the school only offers full boarding at its senior school (from Year 9 onward). For many years it has ranked favourably in GCSE and A-levels rankings published by UK government and major newspapers. In the three years before the pandemic (2017-2019), A*-B rates in A-levels were between 73% to 77%. Results in 2023 were even more impressive, with an A*-B rate of 81%! With such outstanding results, the school is popular among Hong Kong students.
