Undergraduate & Pathways: Exeter (7), East Anglia (18), Newcastle (23), etc

University Pathway Programmes (Foundation & International Diploma) are one-year programmes that allow students to progress onto year 1 and year 2 of an undergraduate programme in the UK. Many of these programmes are taught in dedicated teaching centres within university campuses and provide “guaranteed progression” to an undergraduate degree upon achieving the required grades in internal exams and coursework assessment.

University of Exeter (7)

Ranked the 93^rd globally (THE 15/16), University of Exeter is top 10 in as many as 25 disciplines and reputable for Hospitality, Sociology, Geography and Business. The University’s Business School has been very popular option of Hong Kong students for Accounting & Finance, Economics and Business Studies (which is ranked 10^th, 11^th and 12^th respectively). Notable alumni include JK Rowling (author of Harry Potter), Thom Yorke (lead singer of Radiohead) and more!

University of East Anglia (18)

Globally ranked the 149^th (THE 15/16), University of East Anglia (UEA) is a world-renowned university in scientific researches and for many years has been the 1^st choice of students pursuing a degree in Medicine and Pharmacy. The University is also famous for its researches in History of Art, Communication & Media and Cultural Studies as well as Environmental Sciences, and these were all highly rated in the latest REF done by the UK Government. Among many others, 82% of researches in Social Work, Social Policy and International Relations were rated “World Leading” and “Internationally Excellent”, which was top 5 in the UK. In environmental science, UEA has contributed more than any other university in the world to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and are among the leaders in the investigation of climate change.

Newcastle University (23)

Ranked the 162^nd globally (QS 15/16) and the 23^rd in the UK, Newcastle University is among top 10 in as many as 19 academic disciplines. It’s one of the few universities that provide both foundation and international diploma in Architecture (ranked the 9^th in the UK), making it a very popular choice among aspiring architects. First established as a school of medicine, the University has been part of Durham University before it become an university of its own – one that will become winner of the University of the Year by Times, for its effort is delivering the best education is highly recognized.

Queen’s University Belfast (31)

Member university of the Russell Group, Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) has over the years produced a lot of quality research and is ranked the 182^nd (QS 15/16) globally. Its excellence in research has been praised by the latest REF report, ranking 14 disciplines of QUB’s provision within top 20 in the UK. In the UK university ranking of 2016, it’s ranked the 2^nd in Pharmacy and the 3^rd in Accounting and Finance. Accommodation in its huge student village is exceptional and was highly praised by our consultant who visited the University a few years ago!

City University London (41)

Located in the heart of London with easy access to destinations such as the British Museum and London financial district, City is a powerhouse for Business as well as Communication & Media. The University is ranked the 28^th in Communication & Media globally (QS 15/16), only after LSE and Goldsmiths. The well-renowned Cass Business School is ranked 19^th in Europe (together with Warwick University) and many see it as a stepping stone to get into investment banks and large-scale financial institutions. Students benefit from the School’s extensive network of alumni that includes CEO of Coca Cola Company. Students will be able to network with these alumni via an exclusive online platform with as many as 2000 active users of alumni.

St George’s, University of London (Medical School) (48)

St George’s, University of London was established over 250 years ago. It shares a site with St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust, one of UK’s largest teaching hospitals. For two years in a row, it’s voted London’s best student experience in Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey. Alumni include John Hunter, known as the father of modern surgery, and Edward Jenner, creator of the first vaccine, used to eradicate smallpox.

University of Stirling (50)

Once awarded the Scotland’s University for Sporting Excellence (2008), University of Stirling excels in Sports Science, Hospitality, Philosophy and Communication & Media. The campus is part of the training venues of national teams in swimming, tennis, as well as golf and football. Designed under the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF), degrees in Stirling allow more flexibility in electives and changing courses. Students can even ‘mix & match’ modules from different disciplines to engineer a degree that fulfill their interest and ambitions. Two third of students are from Scotland while the rest come from England and around the world.

Manchester Metropolitan University (77)

Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) is home to the second oldest art school in the UK, which has educated generations of artists and designers in the art & design circle, including Thomas Heatherwick the designer of the UK pavilion at the Shanghai Expo 2010. A joint-venture between MMU and University of Manchester, the Manchester School of Architecture is a world-famous architecture school with star alumni such as Norman Foster. Other Art & Design options include Fashion Design (menswear, womenswear and sportswear), Creative Multimedia, Photography, Graphics and 3D design. 75% of teaching modules in the art foundation are art-related, giving students tons of opportunities to perfect their crafts and skills.

Gloucestershire University (88)

Located in the mid-land of England, the University of Gloucestershire is a university that focuses on business, art & design, computer sciences and other subjects in the humanities. Landscape architecture programmes of University of Gloucestershire are leading programmes in the field, which are ranked the 10^th in Town Planning & Landscape by the Complete University Guide. Such is the 2nd best result among programmes accredited by the Landscape Institute (UK). The programme is a qualifying programme of the Landscape Institute (UK) and students therefore are eligible to pursue HKILA qualification after graduation.

Glasgow Caledonian University (94)

Glasgow Caledonian University provides 4-year degree programmes. The University is good for physiotherapy, radiography, health-related and building-related subjects. It’s the largest provider of health-related graduates to the NHS in Scotland and is also the only one that offers Optometry degree in Scotland, training 90% of eye care specialists in Scotland.
