Perhaps most often associated with its reputation in creative arts, Goldsmiths, University of London has for years (2015-2024) been regarded as one of the world’s top 25 art & design schools (QS). Adding to its fame are its star alumni that include visual artist Damien Hirst, sculptor Antony Gormley, Oscar-winning film director Steve McQueen (Best Picture, 12 Years a Slave), rock band Blur and many more! A total of seven alumni have won the Turner Prize, a prestigious visual arts award in Britain. When she decided to return to school, Hong Kong’s multi-talented media personality Cheuk Wan-Chi also made Goldsmiths her choice of education.
With a diverse and exciting course portfolio in Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Creative Media, Goldsmiths also offers many options in Social Sciences and the Humanities (such as Cultural Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, Economics, etc). Students with a passion to develop a career in art galleries and museums would likely find the Curating programmes in Goldsmiths an excellent option, which is available at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, while enthusiasts in the new media and creative technology should look at programmes in Digital Arts, Creative Computing and Game Design.
