Falmouth University is a specialist university for visual arts and performing arts, located in the picturesque coastal town of Falmouth and Penryn in the South West of England. Its diverse course portfolio includes many unique programmes, such as the MA Feature Filmmaking, in which a cohort of students will collaborate to make a feature film funded and distributed by independent film studio Action Xtreme. In the Academy of Music & Theatre Arts (AMATA), students will have the option of Dance & Choreography, Musical Theatre, Technical Theatre Arts, as well as an industry-focused Music degree that in recent years has lined up many high-profile guest speakers such as Ed O’Brien (guitarist of Radiohead), Adrian Utley (Portishead), president of Island Records and many more.
Notable alumni include Tacita Dean CBE (British visual artist), Neil Harbisson (New media/cyborg artist), Hugh Pym (Seasoned BBC journalist), as well as Hong Kong wildlife photographer Daphne Wong. Apart from these, a number of art and drama teachers in international schools like German Swiss International School and KGV are also graduates of Falmouth University too!

As the largest Photography department in the UK, the Institute of Photography in Falmouth University is equipped with some of the best university facilities for photography in Europe! Its diverse course options include Fine Art Photography, Commercial Photography, Fashion Photography, Press & Editorial Photography, as well as the unique Marine & Natural History Photography. With links with BBC Natural History Unit and National Geographic, the BA (Hons) Marine & Natural History Photography is a superb option for student photographers who have a strong passion for the nature! Graduates from the course include a Hong Kong natural history photographer Daphne Wong, who not only had her work featured in the BBC Wildlife magazine, but also went on to produce the Biodiversity in Hong Kong series for RTHK.
