After the industrial revolution in the 19th century, urbanization has brought serious sanitation problems and many frontline health care workers were killed. Epsom College was established with the support of the Royal Family, to take care of the orphans and nurture more heath care workers, which had literally turned the school into a cradle of British medical staff. Today there are still about 10% of graduates progressing onto medicine, pharmacy and other medical related subjects. The competition is high that families should register at least one year in advance.
