Edge Hill University

Edge Hill University is a modern university in the market town of Ormskirk – which is only about 30 minutes away from Liverpool on a train. Officially became a university in 2005, the University can trace its history back to a teacher training institution founded in 1885. Today Edge Hill University remains one of the largest teacher training schools in Britain, offering teacher training courses in Early Years, Primary Education, Secondary Education at undergraduate level, as well as PGCE in Early Years, Primary Education, Secondary Education and Further Education. The Faculty of Education works in partnership with over 2000 schools and colleges across the UK and was rated the top grades in the latest Ofsted inspection. Apart from Education, Edge Hill University also successfully expanded its postgraduate medical school to provide MBChB with Foundation Year, with the first foundation year intakes in 2019/20.
