Admissions Talk: Cardiff Sixth Form College

Cardiff Sixth Form College is a top independent sixth form college with a main campus in Cardiff – the capital of Wales – and a new campus in Cambridge which is established in the 2022/23 academic year. It has been the top independent school in the UK for A-level results over the past 15 years, occupying the no. 1 spot in league tables for 13 times during the period.

Stunning Progression Records: 74 Successful Cases to Medicine in HKU and CUHK (2022-2026)

Cardiff Sixth Form College is particularly strong when it comes to preparing students for Medical School and UK’s G5 universities. In the last 11 cohorts (2016-2026), there are as many as 498 successful cases to Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine (the vast majority of 443 to Medicine), as well as 108 to Law schools. In the last five years (2022-2026), 74 graduates were admitted to the Medicine programmes in University of Hong Kong and Chinese University of Hong Kong, with another four progressing to Dentistry in University of Hong Kong .

2026 is no exception, in which the College saw 91% of exam entries graded at A*-A and 99% at A*-B – as well as an impressive A* rate of 58%, which is the third highest result in the College’s history! Of 182 students in the class of 2026, 50 graduates gained entry into medical schools, studying Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine. Ten graduates continued their education in Oxford and Cambridge University, while 49 made it to UCL, LSE and Imperial College. A total of 20 students were admitted by University of Hong Kong ^{(including five Medicine and two Dentistry students)}, Chinese University of Hong Kong ^{(including five Medicine students)}, Hong Kong University of Science & Technology and Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Applicants should be made aware that Cardiff Sixth Form College maintains a high standard for progression to Year 13 (A2).

In addition to these, Henrietta and Tony will also come with the latest updates about their new campus in Cardiff Bay, which is in use in the 2026/27 academic year!
