Canterbury Christ Church University

Founded by the Church of England in 1962 as a teacher training institution, Canterbury Christ Church University was granted university status in 2005. In 2018, its joint medical school with University of Kent – Kent and Medway Medical School – was confirmed funding by the government, which will see its first cohort of students in the 2020/21 academic year. Education and allied health professions are the strength of the University. Many of its programmes (such as PGCE, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Radiography and Counselling) are all open for international students. Clayton MacKenzie, provost of Baptist University of Hong Kong, is also a graduate from Canterbury Christ Church University.
