Bootham School York is located in the city centre of York, a top tourist’s destination in England, and just 6 minutes from the landmark York Minster. Celebrating its Bicentenary anniversary in 2023, Bootham School has consistently produced excellent results and achieved an outstanding A*-B rate of 71% in 2025. There were six successful Oxbridge applicants in the past three cohorts (2023-2025), as well as at least four Medicine students. Other popular destinations include Russell Group universities like Durham University, University of Sheffield, University of York, Newcastle University and many more. Usually there are also a good number of progressions to Architecture, Art & Design and Performing Arts degrees, and a BU student from the class of 2024 was able to return to Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST) to study Engineering. Notable alumni include Nobel laureate Philip Noel-Baker and a number of British scientists.
