Ackworth School

Located in the countryside of Yorkshire and just 30 minutes from Leeds, Ackworth School is currently one of the more affordable boarding schools in the UK. With a history of over 245 years, Ackworth School has educated many notable British scientists and literary figures, including James Wilson (founder of The Economist) and Philip Noel-Baker (Nobel peace prize laureate). Admissions is largely non-selective in Ackworth School, where the focus is on helping students improve and excel. And achievements of the class of 2025 demonstrated exactly that – an overall A*-B rate of 43% in A-levels, while high-achievers were able to progress to University of Cambridge ^{(studying Music)}, University of Manchester ^{(studying Medicine)}, Durham University ^{(studying Social Sciences)}.

Strength in Sports: Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Elite Football Programme, Table Tennis & Hockey Academy

Ackworth School places strong emphasis on sports and have been running its own Football, Table Tennis and Hockey academies for many years. Starting from the 2026/27 academic year, the Football Academy, led by professional player and coach John McDermott, will officially partner with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Academy England, to provide students (Year 10+) with professional-grade training. The Table Tennis Academy, an affiliated centre with Table Tennis England, has won multiple national school championships – including gold medals took home by Chinese student Jasmin Wong!
