Abingdon School: Registration Deadline

Abingdon School is a top boys’ boarding school in Oxfordshire, but from the 2024/25 academic year it will start to transition to co-educational. Its prep school started admitted girls from September 2024, while the senior school admitted girls from September 2026.

Students from Abingdon School are not only good in academic, but also in sports and the arts. It’s typically ranked among the top 50-100 independent schools in the UK. With its strict admission criteria, the school usually only considers applicants from top schools in Hong Kong. The school perform exceptionally well in public exams. In 2026, the A*-B rate was at 93%. The classes of 2023 to 2025 saw 45 of its graduates continue their education in Oxbridge and 13 in medical schools, as well as five in University of Hong Kong and Chinese University of Hong Kong. Other popular destinations include Bath, Bristol, Durham, Exeter and Southampton.

Application & Exam Arrangement

At secondary education stage, Abingdon School mainly accepts boarding students into the year groups listed below. Applicants are required to complete their registrations before the deadlines, in accordance to their year groups. Eligible applicants will be invited to sit an entrance exam and an admission interview.

• Year 7: Registrations close in October 2026 ^{Admitting day students only!}
• Year 9: Applications are now closed for 2027/28. Students interested in enrolling for 2028/29 should complete their registrations by October 2026
• Year 10: Registrations close in October 2026 ^{Taking a small number of students only!}
• Year 12: Registrations close in October 2026
