Aberystwyth University is the oldest university in the Wales and a founding member of University of Wales. Aberystwyth University is strong for Geography, Computer Sciences as well as Politics – for which it was ranked top 20 in the UK by the latest research assessment exercise (REF 2021). New and exciting degree courses include Data Science, which takes an interdisciplinary approach between computing and mathematics, and Adventure Tourism Management, which takes advantage of its unique location in Wales.

Since its establishment in 1872, Aberystwyth University has educated a number of politicians and scholars in Wales. More well-known alumni to Hong Kong include movie director of Bridget Jones’s Diary. Prince Charles has also spent a term in Aberystwyth University to read Welsh and history while he was studying in University of Cambridge.
