Study a pathway programme provided by INTO in collaboration with many top universities in the UK – If you didn’t make the grades for direct entry into Undergraduate Year One and Postgraduate programmes, these International Year One, University Foundation Courses and Pre Master’s will help you bridge that gap!
- Guaranteed Progression: The majority of these pathway programmes come with a “Guaranteed Progression”. This means that students will be guaranteed a place in their target programme as long as their meet the internal progression requirements – you won’t be competing for places with external applicants!
- Progression Options: Nowadays there are fewer subjects that don’t come with a pathway option than those that do! These highly diverse progression degrees include Business Studies, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Architecture, Law, Psychology, Engineering, International Development and many more, allowing students to study a subject they’re truly passionate about.
- Study Location: Most pathway programmes are taught at a dedicated teaching centre within university campus, where students have access to campus facilities and are free to join clubs and societies within the university. Some International Year One programmes even arrange students to study alongside undergraduate year one students in some modules!

Lancaster University is now ranked the 164th in World University Ranking (QS 2027) and within top 20 in the UK for Communication & Media, Business Studies, Linguistics, Criminology, Sociology, Economics, Geography & Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, Computer Science and more. Its Biomedical Science programmes – with accreditation by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) – can lead to professional qualifications as a Biomedical Scientist (known as Medical Laboratory Technician in Hong Kong) in the UK and in Hong Kong.

The University of Manchester is ranked the 40th in the world by QS World University Ranking (2027). There are as many as 26 Nobel laureates among its alumni and professors. A recent survey also shows that University of Manchester graduates are among the top 3 most targeted by employers in the UK (2024/25). The University Foundation run by INTO in partnership with University of Manchester is the only pathway programme that comes with a “Guaranteed Offer”. Students will receive a Conditional Offer from the start of their foundation course and will be able progress to Year One of their undergraduate degree after meeting the conditions.

Its Fine Art programmes has been named the number one Art & Design programmes in UK for many years and the University is also known for Architecture, Town Planning, Medicine, Biomedical Sciences and Computer Sciences. Newcastle University is one of the few universities that provide both University Foundation and International Year One in Architecture, making it a popular choice among aspiring architects. First established as a School of Medicine, the University had been part of Durham University before it became a university of its own. First taught in 1834, Newcastle’s Medicine prorgammes is one of the most highly regarded medical degrees in the UK; The Medicine programmes also accepts “transfer” application from students of School of Biomedical Sciences, who can apply to transfer to Medicine or Dentistry after their first year of study.
In Computer Science, Newcastle University has a strong focus on specialist areas such as Cloud Computing, Cyber Security and Bio-Computing.
