In the Seminar, Prof. John Siderov (Head of Department, Optometry and Vision Sciences) from Anglia Ruskin University will introduce the BOptom (Hons) Optometry, covering areas such as course structure & content, facilities, entry requirement, mode of assessment, professional qualifications, graduate prospect and more! In addition to his role as the Head of Department, Prof. John Siderov also teaches one module in BOptom (Hons) Optometry and therefore understands the programme and his students. The Seminar therefore is a great opportunity for students and parents to gain more in-depth knowledge of the BOptom programme as well as the profession of Optometry.
BOptom (Hons) Optometry
The BOptom is one of the recognized qualifications of the Optometrists Board of Hong Kong. Students therefore will be eligible in registering as an Optometrist in Hong Kong, after successful completion of the professional examination set by the College of Optometrists (UK) and a year of work placement.
In addition to direct entry to the BOptom, Anglia Ruskin University also offers a progression route from its foundation programme, allowing students to start with a lower academic qualification. Competition of places is also less fierce in Anglia Ruskin University, when compared to that in Hong Kong Polytechnic University where there are only 40 places every cohort.
Details of the Event
The Seminar will commence at 17:00 to 18:00. After the Seminar, Prof. John Siderov will meet with students and parents individually to answer any questions related to Optometry.
