With the introduction of the Hong Kong BN(O) Visa, more Hong Kong families are considering relocating to the UK. When financial circumstances allow, many families would consider sending their kids to independent day schools for better academic performance and pastoral care. Together with Lois Gaffney (Head of Brighton College Prep Kensington), admissions representatives from Cognita Schools will provide an overview about indepedent day schools for prospective students and parents:

Brighton College Prep Kensington is a joint-venture between Cognita Schools – a global independent schools group – and top boarding school Brighton College. With the first cohort set to start in 2023/24, Brighton College Prep Kensington will provide nursery to Year 8 in its campus in South Kensington, London – which is just across the corner from Imperial College London and Natural History Museum.

Brighton College Prep Kensington is a new development between two groups after the successful establishment of Brighton College Singapore.

Global independent schools group Cognita Schools owns a global network of 100+ independent schools, including Stamford American School and Woodland Pre-Schools in Hong Kong, as well as Brighton College Prep Kensington – a new joint-venture with top boarding school Brighton College, which is set open in 2023/24.

In the UK, Cognita Schools runs over 30 independent schools, many of which are in London, Surrey and other places in the south of England, which could be good options for BN(O) families. Class size is kept small in Cognita Schools, with an average of 15 students a class. This will gradually go down to about 10 a class during GCSE years and five during A-level years. To support migrant and expat families, Cognita Schools allow students to start school during term time (instead of asking students to wait until the start of next term), to minimize disruption to learning.
