This Week’s Special Guest & Topic: Abbey DLD Colleges (Cambridge, London & Manchester)

After the first section of our Boarding School Seminar, students and parents will have a general idea about the education system in the UK. Now this Special section will bring you a real school as further reference!

As more BN(O) families move to the UK, many of families are shifting their focus to Independent Sixth Form Colleges – especially in places where choices of boarding and day schools are more limited (such as Birmingham and Manchester). How is it different to study in an Independent Sixth Form College that praises themselves for higher learning autonomy and better university application support? In today’s Special section, Admissions Manager from Abbey DLD Colleges will tell us more!

With campuses in London, Cambridge and Manchester, Abbey DLD Colleges offer GCSE, GCE A-levels, University Foundation programmes, and a series of short-term English courses and summer school programmes.

Each of these campuses has its own character and strength. Standing out for its A-levels results, Abbey College Cambridge has the highest ratio of international students – many of them are high achievers who aim to get into medical schools, as well as University of Oxford and Cambridge! Abbey College Cambridge, therefore, offers a Pre-Degree Diploma to provide extra learning and application support to help make it happen.

Mirroring London’s character, DLD College London is the most multicultural campus with students coming from over 50 countries and regions. It also offers the widest range of subject choices in GCE A-levels and foundation pathways, making sure that there is something for everyone even with such a diverse student body.

Last but not least, Abbey College Manchester has the largest number of British students. And with such as a strong football culture in the city of Manchester, there is also a Football Training programme, through which students enjoy daily football training alongside their usual timetable.
