Pathway programmes provided by ONCAMPUS can lead to undergraduate degrees in colleges of University of London as well as modern universities such as Coventry! University Pathway Programmes (Foundation & International Year One) are one-year programmes that allow students to progress onto year 1 and year 2 of an undergraduate programme in the UK. Many of these programmes are taught in dedicated teaching centres within university campuses and provide “guaranteed progression” to an undergraduate degree upon achieving the required grades in internal exams and coursework assessment.

University of London International Foundation Programme

ONCAMPUS London delivers the University of London International Foundation Programme in their designated study centre in Birkbeck, University of London. The Programme provides a more challenging curriculum that comes with more diverse progression routes for students aspiring to top universities. With specially written study materials by University of London, students will study four academic subjects (normally students study three subjects in a foundation programme) alongside English language and personal development programmes – a total of 28 teaching hours per week. Upon completion, students will be eligible to apply to a range of UK universities, including top universities such as London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE), Bristol, Durham, Manchester, Nottingham and more!

Loughborough University (11)

Ranked the 256th globally (QS 2023) and the 11th in the UK, Loughborough University is a university in the midland town of Loughborough, about 30 minutes from nearby cities like Leicester and Nottingham. Teaching and research quality are both outstanding, with 91% of researches being rated as “World Leading” and “Internationally Excellent” by Research Excellence Framework (2021). Sport Science, Sociology, Geography & Environmental Sciences, Architecture, Design (Product Design, Industrial Design, Fashion, etc), Media & Communication, Building & Surveying, Engineering are all its strong areas. Loughborough University is ranked the world’s number one for Sport Science for six consecutive years (QS 2017-2022). The University would have ranked within the top 25 in the Tokyo Olympics 2022, if medal count is calculated on its own. It’s also one of two British Swimming National Centres, where some of Britain’s best swimmers train!

University of Southampton (16)

Ranked the 81st in the world (QS 2024) and the 16th in the UK, University of Southampton is a Russell Group research-led university in the port city of Southampton in the south of England. University of Southampton is well recognized for its researches and teaching in Computer Science, Engineering, Music, Physiotherapy and other medical-related subjects. Computer Science is one of its strongest, where Sir Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the Worldwide Web, is a professor. The department is also recognized as one of the 19 Academic Centres of Excellence in Cyber Security Research by the UK Government. The University is gradually introducing Major/Minor degree options in some programmes, to enable students to concentrate on a subject area as the major subject, while broadening knowledge with a Minor subject. Notable alumni include world-renowned musician Brian Eno as well as Grenville Cross the former Director of Public Prosecutions of Hong Kong.

University of Reading (30)

University of Reading is ranked the 198th globally (THE 2023) and the 30th in the UK. Its business school (Hanley Business School) comes 35th in the European Business School Ranking (FT 2022). The University offers collaborative Accounting degrees with PwC – one of the Big 4 accounting firms in the world. Entry requirement is high, but students from the programmes will enjoy guaranteed work placements with PwC, and if they achieve a 2:1 and impress on their work placements they will be likely to be offered a permanent job with PwC – which is a very valuable option for students who aspire to become an accountant, especially those who want to pursue a career in the UK after graduation! In addition to applying directly for year one, students can now progress onto the degree via a university foundation.

Building & Surveying, Film Studies, Design and Meteorology are also among the university’s most reputable disciplines. Not only is University of Reading the first UK university to offer Typography and Film Studies, its master’s programmes in Typography are considered one of the best in the world. Many contemporary font designs of our age are created by graduates from University of Reading – these include Calibri (created by Luc(as) de Groot), Comic Sans (created by Vincent Connare) and many more!

Aston University, Birmingham (45)

Aston University, Birmingham is reputable for Business, Technology, Building & Surverying, Pharmacy and Medical-Related subjects. It’s one of the few universities that offer Audiology and Optometry. In 2018/19, the University saw the opening of its Medical School, further enhancing its provision in the area of medicine and allied professions. The University believes that work placement is key to improve graduates’ employability. Today all courses in Aston University come with a placement year or a placement module, allowing students to spend weeks or up to a year in paid work placement. These effort mean that Aston University enjoys the third highest placement participation rate among universities in England (HESA 2018), with 70% of students doing a year-long work placement as part of their undergraduate degrees!

The reputable Aston Business School – the most popular faculty in Aston University – makes up near half of the whole student population. Not only is it one of the few business schools that are triple accredited by AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS, Aston Business School is also regarded as a top 100 business school in the world by QS World University Rankings (2021) and a top 100 business school in Europe by Financial Times (2020). Located in the north west of England and about one hour away from York, University of Hull is reputable for Politics and International Relations, as well as Law! The University has educated numerous British politicians and members of parliament. Christine Loh, Hong Kong’s former Under Secretary for the Environment, is also a law degree graduate of University of Hull. The University has an internship programme with the UK Parliament that has 25 years of history. Students from Law, Politics and International Relations will have the option to undertake a year-long placement in Westminster. Lord Norton, Professor in the School of Law and Politics, has been described as the UK’s greatest living expert on Parliament!

Medicine, Nursing and other allied health professions are other strong areas of University of Hull. Its Hull York Medical School is a joint-venture with University of York, while its Social Work and Nursing are ranked the 19th and the 24th in the UK respectively – both of which now accept applications from international students!

University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is one of the largest universities in the UK that provides a wide range of subject options. In 2014/15, the University started its Medicine programme (MBBS), after the success in establishing its Dentistry programme. The MBBS programme is tailored for international students and provides placement opportunities in the NHS as well as private clinics. University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is known for its outstanding support to its students and a top player in nurturing graduate start-ups.
