Study a pathway programme provided by OnCampus in collaboration with University of London and a few other top universities in the UK – If you didn’t make the grades for direct entry into Undergraduate Year One and Postgraduate programmes, these International Year One, University Foundation Courses and Pre Master’s will help you bridge that gap!
- Guaranteed Progression: The majority of these pathway programmes come with a “Guaranteed Progression”. This means that students will be guaranteed a place in their target programme as long as their meet the internal progression requirements – you won’t be competing for places with external applicants!
- Progression Options: Nowadays there are fewer subjects that don’t come with a pathway option than those that do! These highly diverse progression degrees include Business Studies, Physiotherapy, Optometry, Architecture, Law, Psychology, Sports Science, Engineering and many more, allowing students to study a subject they’re truly passionate about.
- Study Location: Most pathway programmes are taught at a dedicated teaching centre within university campus, where students have access to campus facilities and are free to join clubs and societies within the university. Some International Year One programmes even arrange students to study alongside undergraduate year one students in some modules!

Ranked the 203rd globally (QS 2027) and the 12th in the UK, Loughborough University is a university in the midland town of Loughborough, about 30 minutes from nearby cities like Leicester and Nottingham. Teaching and research quality are both outstanding, with 91% of researches being rated as “World Leading” and “Internationally Excellent” by Research Excellence Framework (2021). Sport Science, Sociology, Geography & Environmental Sciences, Architecture, Design (Product Design, Industrial Design, Fashion, etc), Media & Communication, Building & Surveying, Engineering are all its strong areas. Ranked the 111th in the world (QS 2027) and the 19th in the UK, University of Southampton is a Russell Group research-led university in the port city of Southampton in the south of England. University of Southampton is well recognized for its researches and teaching in Computer Science, Engineering, Music, Physiotherapy and other medical-related subjects. Computer Science is one of its strongest, where Sir Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the Worldwide Web, is a professor. The department is also recognized as one of the 21 Academic Centres of Excellence in Cyber Security Research by the UK Government. Aston University, Birmingham is reputable for Business, Technology, Building & Surverying, Pharmacy and Medical-Related subjects. It’s one of the few universities that offer Audiology and Optometry. In 2018/19, the University saw the opening of its Medical School, further enhancing its provision in the area of medicine and allied professions. The University believes that work placement is key to improve graduates’ employability. Today all courses in Aston University come with a placement year or a placement module, allowing students to spend weeks or up to a year in paid work placement. These effort mean that 70% of students at Aston University are doing a year-long work placement as part of their undergraduate degrees!

Located in the north west of England and about one hour away from York, University of Hull is reputable for Politics and International Relations, as well as Law! The University has educated numerous British politicians and members of parliament. Christine Loh, Hong Kong’s former Under Secretary for the Environment, is also a law degree graduate of University of Hull. The University has an internship programme with the UK Parliament that has 25 years of history. Students from Law, Politics and International Relations will have the option to undertake a year-long placement in Westminster. Lord Norton, Professor in the School of Law and Politics, has been described as the UK’s greatest living expert on Parliament!
Medicine, Nursing and other allied health professions are other strong areas of University of Hull. Its Hull York Medical School is a joint-venture with University of York, while its Physiotherapy, Nursing and Social Work are ranked the 5th, the 7th and the 14th in the UK respectively – both of which now accept applications from international students!

University of Lancashire is a university in the Lancashire city of Preston, in the northwest of England, which is about an hour away from Manchester and Liverpool. The university is a powerhouse for Medicine and other Allied Health programmes. Options include Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, as well as Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, etc – and these are all open to international students! Unlike other medical schools, the MBBS in University of Lancashire is a 5-year programme specially designed for international students, while British students are subject to limited quotas. Students on the MBBS prorgammes will have placement opportunities in hospitals and clinics under the NHS.
Apart from Medicine and Allied Health, University of Lancashire also offers a few other unique and highly noteworthy programmes, including Fire Safety and Aviation & Pilot Training. Co-delivered by L3Harris Airline Academy London, students on the BSc (Hons) Aviation – Pilot Programme will spend part of their courses in the training base in Gatwick Airport and graduate with an airline transport pilot license (ATPL), which will qualify students to apply to commercial airlines as a pilot (subject to fulfilling flying experience and other professional requirements).

OnCampus London: University of London International Foundation Programme

OnCampus London delivers the University of London International Foundation Programme in their designated study centre in Birkbeck, University of London. The Programme provides a more challenging curriculum that comes with more diverse progression routes for students aspiring to top universities. With specially written study materials by University of London, students will study four academic subjects (normally students study three subjects in a foundation programme) alongside English language and personal development programmes – a total of 28 teaching hours per week. Upon completion, students will be eligible to apply to a range of UK universities, including top universities such as London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE), Bristol, Durham, Manchester, Nottingham and more!
