Pathway Programmes: Lancaster (12), Exeter (13), Queen’s Belfast (26), Manchester (27), Newcastle (30), East Anglia (33), etc

Study a pathway programme provided by INTO in collaboration with many top universities in the UK – If you didn’t make the grades for direct entry into Undergraduate Year One and Postgraduate programmes, these International Year One, University Foundation Courses and Pre Master’s will help you bridge that gap!

• Guaranteed Progression: The majority of these pathway programmes come with a “Guaranteed Progression”. This means that students will be guaranteed a place in their target programme as long as their meet the internal progression requirements – you won’t be competing for places with external applicants!
• Progression Options: Nowadays there are fewer subjects that don’t come with a pathway option than those that do! These highly diverse progression degrees include Business Studies, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Architecture, Law, Psychology, Engineering, International Development and many more, allowing students to study a subject they’re truly passionate about.
• Study Location: Most pathway programmes are taught at a dedicated teaching centre within university campus, where students have access to campus facilities and are free to join clubs and societies within the university. Some International Year One programmes even arrange students to study alongside undergraduate year one students in some modules!

Lancaster University (12)

Lancaster University is now ranked the 157^th in World University Ranking (QS 2026) and within top 12 in the UK for Communication & Media, Business Studies, Linguistics, Criminology, Sociology, Economics, Geography & Environmental Sciences and more. Its Biomedical Science programmes – with accreditation by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) – can lead to professional qualifications as a Biomedical Scientist ^{(known as Medical Laboratory Technician in Hong Kong)} in the UK and in Hong Kong.

In terms of student life, Lancaster University is one of the few collegiate universities in the UK, which means that students are attached to one of its nine colleges, enjoying a more vibrant social life. A 560-acre campus and its location in the North West of England also means that Lancaster University provides a very different experience from other city-based universities. Students would find the University a good destination of living and study with Lancaster’s award-wining accommodation, which has been named the Best University Halls for many years!

University of Exeter (13)

Ranked the 155^th globally (QS 2026) and the 13^th in the UK, University of Exeter is top 15 in as many as 30 academic disciplines and reputable for Sports Science, Radiography, Communications & Media, Psychology, Geography and Business-related subjects. Exeter’s Business School and Law School have been popular among Hong Kong students. It’s ranked the 9^th for Business Studies, the 14^th for Accounting & Finance and the 15^th for Economics. The Law School offers a special 4-year LLB (Hons) Law, in which students will spend their third year in paid work placements in a law firm, to earn up to a year of Qualifying Work Experience (QWE)! Notable alumni include JK Rowling (author of Harry Potter), Thom Yorke (lead singer of Radiohead) and more!

University of Manchester (27)

The University of Manchester is the sixth best performing UK university in the QS World University Ranking, which ranked it as the 35^th best in the world (QS 2026). There are as many as 25 Nobel laureates among its alumni and professors. A recent survey also shows that University of Manchester graduates are among the top 3 most targeted by employers in the UK (2023/24). Students aiming to study at this prestigious university, but fall slightly short of its entry requirement for direct entry into a degree, now have the option of a designated University Foundation programme. The Foundation has considerably higher entry and progression requirements, but can lead to a wide range of academic disciplines including Psychology, Biological Science, Pharmacy, Engineering, as well as many Humanities and Social Sciences degrees.

Newcastle University (30)

Ranked the 137^th globally (QS 2026), the 30^th in the UK and a member of the Russell Group, Newcastle University is ranked within top 20 for 21 academic disciplines. Its Fine Art programmes has been named the number one Art & Design programmes in UK for many years and the University is also known for Architecture, Town Planning, Medicine, Biomedical Sciences and Computer Sciences.

Newcastle University is one of the few universities that provide both University Foundation and International Year One in Architecture, making it a popular choice among aspiring architects.

First established as a School of Medicine, the University had been part of Durham University before it became a university of its own. First taught in 1834, Newcastle’s Medicine prorgammes is one of the most highly regarded medical degrees in the UK; The Medicine programmes also accepts “transfer” application from students of School of Biomedical Sciences, who can apply to transfer to Medicine or Dentistry after their first year of study.

In Computer Science, Newcastle University has a strong focus on specialist areas such as Cloud Computing, Cyber Security and Bio-Computing. It’s a Centre of Excellence for Cyber Security – one of only 19 universities in Britain to obtain such status! In postgraduate level, there are 13 specialist master’s degrees and also a Postgraduate (Conversion) programmes which is open to graduates without a computing background.

University of East Anglia (33)

Ranked the 33^rd in the UK, University of East Anglia (UEA) is a world-renowned university in scientific researches and for many years has been the first choice of students pursuing a degree in Medicine and Pharmacy. The University is also famous for its achievements in Art History, Communication & Media Studies, Geography & Environmental Sciences, as well as medical-related subjects such as Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. In Environmental Sciences, University of East Anglia (UEA) has contributed more than any other universities in the world to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and are among the leaders in the investigation of Climate Change. University of East Anglia (UEA) is also ranked the 16^th and the 108^th in International Development and Environmental Sciences respectively (QS 2025).

INTO London World Education Centre

INTO London is a university pathways college in central London (Zone 1, near Liverpool Street Station) that specializes in University Foundation and International Year One, with a large university network of over 110 universities in the UK and Europe.

The INTO London International Foundation comes with a “Guaranteed Progression” mechanism with a few universities. Students would receive a conditional offer from universities such as University of Kent and University of Exeter before the start of their courses ^{(depending on subject choices)}, so that they can progress onto year one of the undergraduate programme of their choice after meeting the specified requirements. Alternatively, students can also apply to universities via UCAS to widen their choices. From 2022/23, INTO London is introducing two new pathways – Medicine & Dentistry and Physiotherapy & Health Professions – which can lead to the medical school of University of Bristol, Aston University Birmingham, Queen Mary University of London (Malta Campus), etc.
