Classical Music Workshop: Performance & Interpretation in Music

Type: Classical Music Workshop
Target: Students Aged 16 or Above
Location: Parson’s Music (14/F, Tower 1, Times Square, Causeway Bay)

Organized by Leeds College of Music, Principal Lecturer & pianist Jakob Fichert will start with a performance of solo pieces by Liszt, followed by individual performance of their chosen pieces by participating student musicians. Together with Jakob Fichert, participating musicians will then explore the context of their chosen pieces and improve the way in which they perform them.

Registration for the Workshop

If you’d like to participate as a student musician, you’re required submit a chosen piece (all Western classical instruments are welcome). Please indicate that “you’d like to participate as a student musician” in Remarks of the online registration form, so that college staff can get in touch and discuss further arrangement. If you’d like to join the workshop as a member of the audience, you can simply fill in the online registration form.

Musician Profile: Jakob Fichert

Jakob Fichert is a pianist with an international profile. He has performed extensively in the UK and abroad and has recorded as a solo and contributing artists. Chamber Music and Lied repertoire has always been at the heart of his playing career. Jakob Fichert won numerous prizes at international competitions. He is now Principal Lecturer in Piano at Leeds College of Music and Principal MA Piano Tutor at University of York.

Established 50 years ago, Leeds College of Music is a member of Conservatoires UK together with 7 specialist music conservatoires in the UK (including Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music).
