A graduate of BA (Hons) Fine Art & Critical Theory and MA Fine Art Photography, Lynda has worked in the BBC and the UK film and TV industry, and has extensive experience as a media writer, photographer, art director for film, among many other capacities. Within UAL, Lynda has worked as an artist and tutor at London College of Communication for 15 years, teaching on both foundation and degree courses. Since joining the International Academic team in 2015, she travels, interviews and advises international students for all UAL Colleges and subjects.

In this Admissions Talk, Lynda Doyle, International Academic Coordinator from University of the Arts London (UAL), will provide an overview of UAL and its postgraduate programmes, as well as some useful guidelines to help students prepare for their applications. Specific programmes may be mentioned as examples, to illustrate the competition for places and the expectation on special entry requirements like the Video Task and Study Proposal!

• An Overview of University of the Arts London (UAL) and its Postgraduate Programmes: Together the six UAL colleges offer over 100 postgraduate programmes. Many of them have worldwide appeal and attract tons of applications from around the globe, meaning that many students with really impressive portfolios are turned down every year. Some programmes, however, may offer a higher chance for applicants with different academic background and skillsets.
• Guidelines on Art & Design Portfolio, Video Task, Study Proposal & Interview: Most postgraduate programmes in UAL come with Portfolio, Study Proposal and Interview requirements, and many require a Video Task, in which students need to present themselves and have programme-specific questions addressed in just 2-3 minutes.
