Accounting & Finance Degree Seminar (Swansea University)

In the seminar, Mrs Sarah Jones, Course Director of BSc Accounting and Finance programme of Swansea University, will introduce the programme detailing on entry requirements, course structure as well as professional recognition by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Mrs Jones will also share her experience working in the professional services industry in the UK.

After graduating with a degree in Management Sciences from Manchester in 1989, Mrs Sarah Jones has worked for 10 years in industry in various functions including export sales, purchasing and accounting, before qualifying as a Chartered Management Accountant. In 2000 Mrs Jones started teaching both undergraduates and professional students (ACCA and CIMA) and has joined Swansea University later on to teach Management Accounting and Auditing.

Graduate’s Sharing
In order to help students understand how they can obtain professional qualification after graduation in the UK, we invited an UK graduate as a special quest of the seminar. Graduated with an accounting degree in the UK, Anvis now works in Ernest & Young – one of the “Big 4” accounting firms – and is preparing for professional examinations. She will share with students and parents the difficulties she faces gaining the qualification.
