UK Summer Courses & Study Tours 2024
During Summer holiday, many parents would look for summer courses, study tours and overseas learning activities for their children, to make good use of the holiday break. Spending a few weeks in a foreign country is a great way to learn about its culture, people and education environment and an effective way to improve your English! So we’ve handpick eight courses which we think are fantastic options for students of different ages and learning expectations. Under each of them we have indicated course components of lessons and activities, so that parents can easily locate the one with the right balance of class and play!
Key Features:
- All-in-One English Learning, Activities & Excursions Experience: Most of these summer courses and study tours focus on English learning with the most basic courses consisting of 15 hours of English lessons per week. They also come with a series of sports, extracurricular activities and excursions, providing the perfect chance for students to practice their English in real-life situations!
- Academic & Career Pathways: Apart from English lessons, many courses also provide different academic and career pathways to encourage students to study English through their interested subjects. Students can also understand more about potential university subject choices and career paths through these academic and career themes. In 2024, these include medicine, computer science, STEM, art & design, architecture, business, etc.
- Experience Life in UK Boarding Schools: Many of these courses are held in traditional boarding schools, where students can enjoy an action-packed holiday in a safe environment. The choice of campus affects availability of extracurricular activities, excursion destinations and special activities. - Explore New Hobbies: Sports and extracurricular activities are key features of a British education. In these summer courses and study tours, students will have a taste of just that! There will be plenty of opportunities to try out new things and develop some new hobbies, with options from equestrian, fencing, dance, art & design and many more.
- Excursions: Every summer course and study tour includes one to two days of excursions per week. Led by the tour staffs, students will visit UK’s popular tourist attractions, for example, London, Oxford, Cambridge, Bath, etc.
- Make Friends from All Over the World: Summer courses and study tours welcome students from all around the globe. Through studying and living with people from different places, students can learn more about different countries and cultures, thus widening their global vision.

- Introduction of STEM: Using simple but intriguing learning methods to understand more about theories on STEM subjects like science, maths, and engineering! Students will apply these theories through working on group projects on designing, testing, and modifying different technological products.
- Introduction of Leadership: Through the main theme of climate change, students will pick up essential leadership skills in different areas and polish their skills on public speaking, cooperation and presentation.
- Introduction to International Relations: Learn about the functions and operations of international organizations like United Nations and NATO. - 14-17 years old students and 11-13 years old students will be divided into two classes for English lessons, assuring an excellent learning experience for every student
- There will be 4 extracurricular activity sessions every week. The options are:
- Academies: Students will choose one academy to focus on every week, including arts, football, tennis, hockey, basketball, horse riding, fencing, and climbing. All academies are taught by professional coaches and teachers.
- Multi-Activity: Students will choose two extracurricular activities every week to explore new hobbies and experiences! The available activities are hiking, badminton, dance, handcraft, animal care, survival skills, table tennis, volleyball, swimming, etc.
- “Progressive Skills in Action”: Develop essential soft skills like critical thinking and communication skills through various interdisciplinary activities (Examples: Climate change awareness exhibitions, Creating a TV news & weather video, Designing a new boardgame). Local students of Whitgift School will also be back to school and join international students for these activities!
- There is a strict nationality policy to make sure students from each nationality will not exceed 15%, to ensure a full English learning and living environment. Students who joined this course last year (2023) were from 27 different countries.
