為何採用《泰晤士報（Times）》Good University Guide 英國大學排名？

《泰晤士報（Times）》Good University Guide 英國大學排名同時採納學生滿意度、學術研究水平、入學門檻及畢業生就業情況等多方面去評價各所英國大學，能較全面地反映大學的教學和學術研究表現，因此我們亦一直主要採用 Good University Guide 作為挑選大學的數據參考。

本年度的大學排名有以下三項較重大的改變，特別值得學生和家長注意：

生物工程及生物醫學工程（Bioengineering & Biomedical Engineering）、博雅教育（Liberal Arts）、自然科學（Natural Sciences）三個學科現設有獨立學系排名，可為學生及家長提供更準確的參考。
隨著每六年一屆的英國學術研究水平調查（REF 2021）於 2022 年正式發布，排名表裡的學術研究評分有較大變化。整體來說，大部份排名較高的大學的起跌不多，但部份現代大學（如 Falmouth University、Nottingham Trent University、University of Portsmouth 等）受惠於學術研究評分改善，在整體排名上有較大升幅。
服務及設備投資（Services/Facilities Spend）不再被納入評分機制裡，變相令其他評分準則的比重有所提高，更能反映教學質素、學術研究水平等重要指標。

由於整體排名以英國大學所有科目的整體表現為根據，有時候未必反映部份大學在個別學科上的優勢。部份大學或在個別範疇上有領先地位，卻不一定在整體大學排名中擁有較前位置。對於已經確定心儀科目的學生，學系排名會更具參考價值。在新興學科（如酒店管理等）中，不少在整體英國大學排名裡排名較後的英國大學會佔較前位置，學生選校時宜多加注意。

Top 30 英國大學的文憑試（HKDSE）收生要求（2022/23）

文憑試達到有關收生要求的學生可直接升讀英國大學學位課程一年級，而未達要求的學生，則需透過大學國際一年級（一年制，銜接學位課程二年級）及大學預備班（一年制，銜接學位課程一年級）銜接學位課程。除此以外，學生亦可選擇修讀一年制高考課程（1-Year A-levels），保留回港升讀大學的選擇。

英國寄宿學校餘額招生（2022/23 年度）

超過 100 所英國寄宿學校現階段仍有少量餘額，當中包括多間排名最佳 150 位的寄宿學校及傳統名校，如 Bryanston School、Canford School、Caterham School、Cardiff Sixth Form College、Concord College、d’Overbroeck’s College、St Mary’s Cambridge、St Peter’s School、Talbot Heath School、Windermere School 等。學生如於七月內提交申請，仍可趕及於九月開學。學額有限，學生及家長宜盡快向升學顧問查詢。

由於整體排名以英國大學所有科目的整體表現為根據，有時候未必反映部份大學在個別學科上的優勢。部份大學或在個別範疇上有領先地位，卻不一定在整體大學排名中擁有較前位置。對於已經確定心儀科目的學生，學系排名會更具參考價值。在新興學科（如酒店管理等）中，不少在整體英國大學排名裡排名較後的英國大學會佔較前位置，學生選校時宜多加注意。

因應新冠狀病毒肺炎（COVID-19）疫情在英國的最新情況，英國政府已於 18/3（星期三，英國時間）傍晚宣布全國學校（包括中小學及預科書院）於 20/3（星期五）中午起停課，直至另行通知。本年度在五月及六月開考的英國會考（GCSE）及高考（A-levels）亦將取消，政府將於稍後公布後續安排^{【按此查閱有關公布】}。受英國停課安排影響的留學生應依照學校的指示和建議，安排返港。

學校停課及留學生返港安排

因應新冠狀病毒肺炎（COVID-19）疫情在英國的最新情況，英國政府已於 18/3（星期三，英國時間）傍晚宣布全國學校（包括中小學及預科書院）於 20/3（星期五）中午起停課，直至另行通知。

大部份學校因應宣佈已發出通告，通知家長關於停課和宿舍運作上的安排。據我們了解，部份學校能維持宿舍運作，直至寄宿生能夠安全回家。如學校未能維持宿舍開放，校方會聯同監護人公司安排學生於寄宿家庭（Host Family）暫住。我們建議受停課影響的留學生，應依照學校的指示和建議，安排返港。

由於預計英國停課安排將會維持一段時間，學生極可能未能於復活節假期後返回英國，學生宜在能力範圍內攜帶更多個人物品返港。

我們亦認同學校和監護人公司的呼籲，如果可行的話，家長應避免選購需要多次轉機的航班，以免學生需要在陌生的機場長時間逗留。隨著由英國返港的航班數量陸續增加，希望機位的緊張情況會稍為緩和。

我們明白這個星期關於提早關閉宿舍和停課的消息來得十分突然，我們正投入中心上下所有人手，幫助學生和家長解決目前的困難。

此外，本年度在五月及六月開考的英國會考（GCSE）及高考（A-levels）亦將取消，英國政府將於稍後公布後續安排^{【按此查閱有關公布】}。香港考評局則已延後在港應考英國會考（GCSE）和高考（A-levels）的截止報名日期至 31/3（星期二）。我們已初步確認學生可在港報考這兩個公開試，但學生和家長須注意兩地考試局的考試範圍有一定差異。如希望報考，請自行向香港考評局報名。 ^{【已取消，按此查閱更新安排】}

目前，我們的首要工作是優先處理學生返港的問題和學習上的安排，稍後將會協助家長向校方查詢學費及復活節假期後的教學安排。希望家長體諒！

除了升學顧問和學生支援組的同事近期就肺炎疫情每日為學生的安排努力外，管理層亦一直與合作學校，以及多個英國和香港的官方機構（如英國駐港領事館、英國寄宿學校聯會 BSA、英國寄宿學校聯網 BBSN、香港考評局和衛生署等）反映英國留學生和家長的處境，和提供專業意見。

常見問題

為方便學生及家長更清晰地了解關於英國學校停課及留學生返港的安排，以下我們整理了一系列常見問題：

英國學校何時開始停課？

英國政府於 18/3（星期三，英國時間）傍晚宣布全國學校（包括中小學及預科書院）於 20/3（星期五）中午起停課，直至另行通知。

本年度在五月及六月開考的英國會考（GCSE）及高考（A-levels）亦將取消，英國政府將於稍後公布後續安排。

【23/3 更新】公開考試（GCSE、A-levels）取消後，有何後續安排？
英國教育部在 20/3（星期五）公布，應屆英國會考（GCSE）和高考（A-levels）考生將會獲發「推算分數（Calculated Grade）」，以便學生能夠如期展開下一階段的學習生涯。

有關推算機制將由英國資格與考試標準辦公室（Ofqual）與各考試局共同建立，參考過往為因病缺席考試學生推算成績的經驗，預期會依據一籃子因素，例如：
- 已進行的非考試評核（Non-Exam Assessment）
- 校內模擬試（Mock Exam）成績
- 由教師提供的成績預測，而非直接使用預測成績（Predicted Grades）
- 過往公開考試成績分布
政府會爭取在七月底前向學生發布成績。如獲發成績後，考生認為「推算分數」未能反映自己的能力，學生可選擇參加下一期的公開考試。
【8/4 更新】公開考試（GCSE、A-levels）取消後，考試費會退還嗎？

根據現時各考試局及學校提供的資訊，全數退還考試費的機會相當細。雖然公開考試取消，但考試局現正密鑼緊鼓為學生進行「推算分數（Calculated Grade）」評估工作。為確保「推算分數」公平和公正，考試局正向校方索取學生過往學術表現報告，及後亦會進行一系列嚴謹的統計和檢閱程序。至於日後會否退還部份費用，則有待考試局完成上述程序後才能決定。
【24/3 更新】今屆國際預科文憑（IB）考試會取消嗎？

國際預科文憑組織（IBO）在 23/3（星期一）公布，全球、原訂本年五月舉行的 IB 考試將會取消。應屆考生將會如期在七月獲發 IB 文憑和成績（估算機制將於稍後公布），以便學生能夠如期展開下一階段的學習生涯。IBO 將會在 27/3（星期五）向 IB 學校發布更多細節，以便校方可向學生提供多資料。
學生是否應該返港？

鑑於英國政府已宣布全國學校停課，本年度的英國會考（GCSE）及高考（A-levels）亦將取消，我們建議受停課影響的留學生，應依照學校的指示和建議，安排返港。

停課措施適用於英國大學嗎？

現時英國政府的停課措施不適用於英國大學，相關決定由大學校方自行就校園情況決定。

據我們的了解，校園的部份設施會暫停開放，宿舍則會維持開放。絕大部份大學已陸續實施網上教學，並計劃在可行的情況下將考試和其他評核以網上形式進行。部份學系涉及專業資格要求和實習，相信會維持部份面授課堂和考試。

請注意！部份院校及學系或要求學生必須在英國參與網上教學，但一般都設有不同程序去個別審視和處理學生的情況。學生在決定離開英國返港前，必須得到校方同意，以免影響日後學業及簽證安排。
如何查閱學校所在地區的確診個案數字？

家長可在 BBC 網站（按此前往）輸入學校的郵政編號（Post Code），查閱學校所在地區的確診數字，以評估當地的疫情。

家長可於本中心網站的學校簡介裡（按此前往寄宿學校校網列表和英國大學校網列表），找到所屬寄宿學校的郵政編號（Post Code）。

【25/3 更新】學生可以在香港應考公開試（GCSE、A-levels）嗎？

考試局 Cambridge International 及 Pearson Edexcel 分別於 23/3（星期一）及 24/3（星期二）宣佈取消全球、原訂本年五月、六月舉行的英國會考（GCSE）和高考（A-levels）考試，學生將不能在香港應考這兩個考試。已向香港考評局報名的學生，請密切留意考評局的最新安排。
假如學生回港後，未能如期返回英國開始下一學期，會否對學生簽證有影響？

受疫情影響，學生簽證的部份規定已有所放寬。在校方許可的情況下，學生不會因為在疫症期間離開英國逾 60 日，或在疫症期間的出席率不足而影響簽證。
學校會否退回本學年的最後一個學期（四月至七月）的學費？

現階段校方正忙於處理疫情下的校園安排（如網上教學準備、復活節假期安排等），相信稍後才會因應情況（如疫情發展、出入境限制等），個別考慮特別退款安排。據了解，部份學校正研究網上教學的可行性，嘗試減低停課對學習的影響。如校方實施網上教學，相信退回學費的機會或較低。

由於關於提早關閉宿舍和停課的消息來得突然，我們會優先處理學生的返港安排，並會在稍後協助家長向校方查詢學費及復活節後的教學安排。希望家長體諒！
【3/4 更新】英國停課對下個學年（2020 年九月開學）的入學申請有影響嗎？

在停課和社交距離措施下，英國學校的職員現時多以「在家工作」的形式繼續維持校園和招生組的運作。我們知道部份職員有響應著英國政府的呼籲，回校參與維持校園開放，協助照顧醫護人員的子女。極小部份校園自成一國的寄宿學校，甚至可會繼續教學和寄宿服務。

如有意在 2020 年九月開始在英國讀書，學生和家長仍可繼續進行申請。我們會向校方爭取延後確認學位的期限，同時亦建議家長必須在詳細了解退款條款（Refund Policy）後，才確認學位。
【3/4 更新】如九月未能如常開學，學校會有什麼安排？
不少英國學校現已陸續公布後備開學及教學方案。暫時來說，常見的安排包括：
- 上課安排：實施網上教學安排，直至學生能夠重回校園上課。
- 學費安排：在學生能夠親身前往英國前，大部份學校只會收取學費，不會收取住宿費。以寄宿學校來說，這表示學生只須繳付日校學費（通常相等於寄宿學費的 60% 至 70%）。
在疫情影響下，學生應否接受下個學年（2020 年九月開學）的學校取錄？

現時實在難以評估疫情發展。我們知道學生多番努力才獲取錄，放棄學位亦相當可惜，所以會建議家長必須在詳細了解退款條款（Refund Policy）後，才確認學位。如選擇放棄學位，學生日後或因為學額已滿或學校政策，而不能重新取得學位。
