世界排名 57（QS 2027），英國排名 10，亦是羅素大學集團（Russell Group）研究型成員大學之一，University of Bristol 是位於英格蘭西部創意城市 Bristol 的頂尖學府。校內學生約四成來自英國私立中學，比例是繼牛津、劍橋大學及 University of St Andrews 後最高的，反映大學相當受英國中產家庭歡迎。著名畢業生包括歌手 James Blunt 等，香港畢業生則有立法會議員楊岳橋、記者吳璟儁等。在學科方面，University of Bristol 共於 26 個學科範疇裡名列英國最佳首十位，工程系、法律系、醫科及獸醫學均相當受歡迎，另在電腦科學、心理學、地理及全球發展（International Development）、政治學、社會學及社會政策研究等範疇有高評價。University of Bristol 是少數設電腦科學系轉制碩士（Postgraduate (Conversion)）的大學，接受任何學系畢業生報讀，同時亦設獸醫護士（Vet Nursing）課程。
