University of Chester is a British university with main campuses in the historic city and popular tourist destination of Chester, which is only 40 to 60 minutes from Liverpool and Manchester on a train. The University also has university centres in nearby cities like Warrington, Shrewsbury, etc. Formerly a teacher training college with over 180 years of history, the University was granted full university status in 2005 and is currently one of the few universities that provide teacher training programmes at undergraduate level. These options include Early Years and Primary Education, which allow students to obtain qualified teacher status (QTS) right after graduation. Medical-related subjects are the most popular subject group in University of Chester. Not only are its Nursing programmes open to international students, the University will also open its new Graduate-Entry Medicine programmes in 2024/25 – which will welcome applications from non-science graduates too!
