With a minimum of 1000 hours of placement, the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy in Manchester Metropolitan University (Manchester Met) is a HCPC and CSP-accredited qualification, which means that graduates are eligible to register as a UK physiotherapist after graduation. The qualification is also included in the Quotable Qualifications list of the Physiotherapists Board Hong Kong, and graduates are eligible to register as a physiotherapist in Hong Kong, after they became a UK-registered physiotherapist. The University runs an on-site Physiotherapy clinic which is open to the public and offers the opportunity for students to work on real cases under supervision!
In addition to medical institutions, football clubs, performing arts groups and schools in the UK hire their own physiotherapists which gives graduates diverse job opportunities. Alongside his teaching role, Professor Michael Callaghan is also Head of Physical Therapies in Manchester United and has been part of the medical teams at five Olympic Games and five Commonwealth Games – a demonstration of the diverse job opportunities in the UK.
